Western Australia Day 4

Beautiful pure white san dunes.
Today was the highlight of the whole trip (to me). First we travelled to Lancelin, the sand dune town. The place which is famous for "sand boarding! " One look all sand " haha i just make up an idiom ;) We rented 2 sand boards from a general store in town. And off we went sand boarding!!!

It was fun but there were a LOT of flies and it was very very hot!!!!!!! My hat was the only weapon against them :/ But it was worth it when we slided down the sand! WHEE~~~

We really enjoyed it there. It was very fast when I slided down. Well my mom slided too. She's afraid of heights so she slided on the smallest slope -.- The downside was .... the climb. After each slide, we had to climb all the way up again against the strong winds plus carrying the board. After each of us had a few rounds, we went back to the town to return the boards.

Then we cleaned ourselves up in the public toilet. We then drove to the Pinacles Desert. As shown in the picture. The rocks were formed naturally. ;) It all started when they were small shells then they broke down. And eventually the become rocks like this.

It was quite a sight. Golden dessert with mass rock formation. Unfortunately it was also full of flies. Luckily there was a path where we could drive in. We didn't stay long there cos the flies and the heat was unbearable. After a short visit to the discovery centre, we drove to Perth City.
It was a relieve once we were back to "civilisation". We quickly checked into Bailey's Hotel and returned the rented car before the office closed. It was about 5pm but the sun was still going strong and "fierce". So we decided to go to the Swan Bell tower. Well, nothing much there except for the Bell tower which has huge mechanism for bell ringing inside. We proceed to the Hay Street next. The shops were mostly closed by then. So we ended having Macdonald for dinner which cost 3 times more than Malaysia (in RM).
